JPX Patre 64 Reserve Parachute Canopy
The JPX Patre 64 is a 64 sqm round emergency reserve parachute built for paramotor and powered paraglider pilots who fly low and fast. Designed by JPX, it gives you a compact, reliable backup that deploys fast and descends at a controlled rate, so you have the best chance of a safe landing when your main wing fails.
Performance and Deployment
The Patre 64 uses a traditional round canopy shape optimized for stable, oscillation-free openings. The canopy-first deployment sequence reduces the time to full inflation, which matters when you are close to the ground. Once open, it stabilizes quickly with minimal swinging, lowering the risk of line twists and entanglement.
Sink rate is kept low across the certified weight range, helping reduce landing impact even on low pulls. The canopy is tested and certified to EN 12491, the European standard for paragliding reserve parachutes. This means it meets strict requirements for strength, deployment speed, and descent performance under load.
Packing volume is low for a 64 sqm canopy, so it fits cleanly in most front-mounted and under-seat containers. The design works best with a deployment bag that has an integrated short strop. A short strop keeps the bag close to your body during the throw, giving you more leverage and a cleaner extraction.
Construction and Compatibility
The canopy is made from high tenacity nylon fabric with reinforced load tapes along the seams and suspension lines. This construction handles the shock of deployment while keeping weight down. Suspension lines are color coded for easy inspection, repacking, and pre-flight checks.
The Patre 64 is intended for pilots with an all-up weight of approximately 80 to 110 kg. It is designed for paramotor and paramotor paragliding use only and is not certified for skydiving or high speed aircraft deployment. Always verify that the canopy size matches your weight and that it fits your harness or container before flying.
Maintenance is straightforward. Follow the manufacturer’s repack interval, typically every 12 months, and have the reserve inspected by a qualified rigger. Regular repacking keeps the fabric supple and ensures consistent openings.
If you fly over water, trees, or rough terrain, the JPX Patre 64 gives you a proven backup that packs small, deploys fast, and brings you down at a controlled rate. Contact a certified JPX dealer to confirm fit, check stock, and arrange repacking service.
